Mantle Assasins is a small European international Guild Wars 2 Community. We consist of a mature level-headed playerbase that has similar goals within the Guild Wars 2 universe. We originally formed in the first Guild Wars in 2005 and have remained a solid community under our [MA] tag ever since. The misspelling of Assasins (which should be Assassins) is done purposefully, although not initially. This came down to a typo when we originally formed. We set up a community poll prior to the release of GW2 to see if the guild wanted to amend it. The majority voted in favour of us keeping the typo. They classed it as part of our heritage and people felt it had importance as the name under which we had created the many great experiences for each other over the years. We dabble in all things the game has to offer: varying from fractals, raids and even the rare dungeon run in PvE, to PvP, WvW & self-made Biweekly Guild Events. We also offer our own Website, Forums, TeamSpeak3 Server and several Whatsapp group chats for general banter and LFG purposes.
Something that we started back in the early days of Guild Wars 1, was what we dubbed "The [MA] Way". To sum this up, within MA we do not aim to be the very best in PvP, WvW or Fractals. We aim to create the best experience we can in a laid-back atmosphere and have a laugh while we're at it. The team gets wiped? We just laugh in the face of failure, get back up and jump right back in without all the flaming and blaming you get from a lot of other guilds out there! Even regarding content like raids*, we give newcomers a chance to learn their class and the encounters at their own pace with tailored advice and training raids when enough interest arises. Although don't get the wrong idea. We work together very well as a community, but without the tension of being criticized if you or we muck up :)
*Our raiding team is taking a break for the summer, but will resume their schedule one month after the Path of Fire release.
We do not recruit heavily, allowing time for new members to settle in and get to know the members before we recruit more. This also benefits those who are already in the guild. It gives us the time we need to get to know our new members well, before bringing in any new faces and getting to know thém. This system has served us well, giving everyone a chance to know everyone.
To make an application, simply head over to the "Apply Here" section of our website to get started! Applications are handled by the Officers & Leader of the Guild.
Players of the Guild Wars 2 Community to preferably be aged 18+
Players of our Guild are to represent us at all times*
Exceptions are made only for Guild Banks, and also of course for a short duration after creation a new character.
Players are to register on our website & make an application when looking to be recruited.
All new recruits have a sit down & chat session with an Officer or the Leader of the Guild.
It is preferable that our members have TeamSpeak3 installed and are willing to use it. Most of the banter happens there, you certainly don't want to miss it!
Joining our Whatsapp groups (General chat + Events & LFG's) is mandatory for all new members. This is our main medium to organise groups for e.g. fractals and guild missions.
Introducing from left to right: James, Dennis, Kwinten and Edy. We are the team behind Mantle Assasins to ensure the guild runs smoothly. Over the years we have worked together to provide an unwavering level of continuity. The end result is long standing community of friendly and approachable players.
James is the only remaining founder of the MA community, from way back in November 2005! Over the years, he has dedicated countless hours working with the community to bring it to where it is today. In spite of this, James is our Slacker Supreme and will always be blamed if let's say a fractal run goes south, even though he's not even online. Such a slacker. Nowadays, he can’t play video games nearly as much as he’d like, but always finds time to spend with the community and ensure that the community continues to grow and develop for the foreseeable future.
Dennis is one of the longest running Officers of the MA community, joining us in April 2006 and being promoted not long after with his infamous “eat your veggies!” slogan. He is easily the most organised and logical thinker among any of us. The efficiency he displays during his Guild Meetings is infamous, as well as his ever messed up sleeping pattern. He has always shown a great dedication and passion toward the community, and as a result has been a key contributor to MA’s overall success.
Kwinten is our bright-eyed approachable young boy officer. He joined MA in november 2015 and proved himself great enough of a slacker to become officer in August 2016. Any 'maybe' on an event attendance list is an icy dagger in his heart, the heart that he pours into the events that he organizes. Sometimes he'll drive you insane with the things he makes you do, but one look into those eyes or one sound from that voice and you'll realize that this soft good boy does it all out of love for the guild.
Edy is by a slight margin our most recent officer joining the team. He became a part of MA in September 2015 and helped a lot of members plow through the Heart of Thorns content. Eventually he decided he wanted to help the guild in more meaningful ways and officially joined Team Officer in January 2017. Edy is a very dedicated player who has done a lot of work in consistently running raids and training raids, and setting up a standardised process that encourages all people in the community to participate regardless of personal experience.
